Database Backup and Restore

Please follow these instructions to back up your current NeatReceipts database and restore it in a new version of NeatWorks. This will ensure your existing data is preserved.

STEP 1: Backup Your Current Database

  1. Launch your application and back up your NeatReceipts database. To do this, go to Tools > Database > Backup.
  2. In the "Save" dialog box that opens, browse to the appropriate location on your hard drive and save the backup file with the default .nrbak file extension. It is recommended that you save your backup file in your My Documents folder.
  3. Close the NeatReceipts application.

STEP 2: Uninstall Your Current Version of NeatReceipts

  1. Unplug your scanner.
  2. From your Start Menu, go to All Programs > NeatReceipts > Uninstall NeatReceipts and follow the on-screen instructions.
    Note: Vista users, go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program > NeatReceipts.

STEP 3: Install NeatWorks Version 4

Following the instructions included in your Welcome Kit, install NeatWorks Version 4.

 

STEP 4: Restore Your Data

  1. Launch NeatWorks Version 4 by double clicking on the NeatWorks shortcut installed on your desktop.
  2. Go to Tools > Database > Restore. Browse to find your database backup (the .nrbak file) and click OK.
