in addition to receipts, i'd like to be able to scan other documents for safe keeping but the quality of the scan is really bad. do others have the same experience?

I have Windows Vista, and running the latest version of Neat Receipt 3.0 with 3.4 update. My situation is that, I keep getting a message saying,
"Neat Receipt can not launch because the database service could not be started or was not finished starting up. Relaunch and if problem persist contact customer service."
No ...

It may help you with the issue you're encountering. If not, we will be releasing a fully Vista compatible version in the Fall.
