• Re: Scanning to PDF in Lower Resolution

It isn't a color issue b/c I do all my scanning in B/W and right now I have: 154 Documents Database size: 1.1 GB. This is 7MB / document, and almost all my documents are a single page. If I take one of these basic, single page, b/w documents and export it to a PDF, they are usually about 500KB / page, which is like 10x more than I would ...

  • Re: Giant File Sizes

So, right now I have 154 documents. Almost all of these are single pages, a fair number are smaller than 8.5x11. All are black and white. My database is now over a gig in size. That comes out to about 7MB per document. This can't be how it is expected to be right?

  • Giant File Sizes

I have just started using neatworks. I have a total of 42 scanned pages... most are 8.5x11, but some are smaller. My database is 85MB at this point (after being compressed???) and if I export everything to PDF, it still averages 500KB per page! Is this the normal behavior? Why are these files so massive?

  • Re: Putting a library on the network?

So after having worked with the software a little, I can see that what I was looking to do isn't really an option. From reading some other posts, I had thought there might be an option in NW to select the location to store the library, but I don't see any such option. I'm guessing that I could have installed this to a mapped ...

  • Re: Will NR OCR everything for searching?

Maybe you can help me. I ended up buying NR this weekend, and the only problem I seem to be having is that most of my search terms don't return any results. I scanned in a 3 page american express statement, and probably 95% of the things I searched for on this document ( extremely clear text ) come up empty. So, I figured there ...

  • Re: Will NR OCR everything for searching?

OK, because I read some other post where someone was saying they couldn't search on anything on their receipt if it wasn't on of the standard fields (vendor, amount etc). For example, I think the poster said they couldn't search for receipts based on line items on the receipt.

  • Putting a library on the network?

Is it possible to store the library on a network share, and then access it from more than 1 computer (even if only 1 computer at a time obviously)?

  • Will NR OCR everything for searching?

I am hoping to scan in pretty much all mail that I would otherwise file. Tax documents, bills, invoices etc. I know that NR will try to figure things out like... for a receipt, who was the vendor and that kind of thing. But if I were to scan in a letter from the secretary of state's office, could I search on some terms from ...
