To respond to what I think was your question, yes, other people have this problem from time to time too. First off, it's called Thermal Ink.. and yes, it fades into the paper.
It's actually NOT provided by Home Depot or any other merchant.... it's part of their POS (point of sale) system, usually vendored thorugh IBM, Sable, Micros, ...

You're saying that maybe if you selected the category, Meals and Entertainment, the comments field would allow you to put dining related notes, based on your category selection?
Seems like a good idea. It's been mentioned before, but I think for general compatibility across all categories it's been left out. Couldn't hurt to ask ...

You'd have to keep your master database on one of your computers, let's say your PC. Then you keep a small database on your laptop of just receipts you're scanning on-the-go. When you go home, you import them into your PC database.

I get the impression you work similarly to how we do. You keep your database at home or office and want to scan new receipts on the road. Then when you get home you'd like to reimport them. Let me address your questions 1 at a time.

Can we get a forum specifically for 3.1 users? I'm assuming it would assume Vista 32 bit as the OS. It would make it really nice for keeping the threads in order.

Yes. Success, although we had a small issue with the databse controller not installing properly on Vista Ultimate. Let me know if you have a problem with that part of it. Maybe I can help.Yes, you need to upgrade to 3.04 first. (At least that makes it pretty smooth.. did for me)
