    Worst. Packaging. Ever.

I just want to tell you how horrible the packaging of the NeatReceipt scanner is. It's the worst of those plastic-sealed packages that are almost impossible to open without cutting yourself. I wonder how many people were injured in opening it.

    Shame on you, Neatco.

    Re: Worst. Packaging. Ever.

    Hi,

I apologize for the inconvenience, but this is a little out of our control.

The "clamshell" packaging is a requirement for products sold at club retail stores.  Most of our units (including direct purchases from The Neat Company) ship in a standard cardboard box.

I received mine from Amazon in an all-recyclable cardboard box, and thought it actually was a good use of space, no wasted area. It's interesting that is a requirement of the big retailers. We should petition them to stop forcing that, or maybe I need to invent a version out of the starch-based "plastic" that is now used for utensils and drink cups.
