I understand that there is an current issue about black area around the receipts, but in my case, I also noticed a perfect vertical black line which started to appear on my scanned receipts after about 100 scans or so (of course, I made sure to remove all staples from every document I have ever inserted in the scanner). Has anyone experienced the same problem?

From my experience with other scanners, it sounds like you have gotten something on the glass inside the scanner.  Look into it from the front side to see if you see anything in the location where the stripes shows up.  I have seen this happen on other scanners when someone scans something with whiteout on it and it is not dry and transfers to the glass.

 You might want to try the cleaner sheet that came with the scanner.

Actually, thanks RichB, I just needed to recalibrate using the included calibration paper and the vertical line disappeared. Hope this helps if it happens to someone else.

I ran the wet alcohol cleaner through until it was dry. Then I ran the dry cloth three or more times and that worked.

 

Just keep running the wet and dry cloths through until success.
