In 3.x, I could simply start scanning a new receipt in to the folder in which I was currently viewing.

In 4.0, I can scan from that folder, but I have to go the Inbox, click on the receipt, choose the folder that I was just viewing, and then go back to that folder.

So... tell me how this is supposed to be an improvement?  

If you wanted to add the glitzy inbox to attract new users, fine, but why did you have to ditch functionality that worked just fine for experienced users???   Are you interested in losing users?

If you want to do something different, always give your users the option of doing the new approach or staying with the old approach.  

For example, I use Windows Vista, but I have my desktop set up with the Classic Windows appearance.  Why?  Because I am used to it and more comfortable with it.  At least Microsoft gives me the option to choose for myself--NeatWorks does not.

Steve, learn to work with the software in batch mode.  It's inefficient to scan a single receipt, then review / file.  Instead learn to batch process:  scan multiple receipts, ie 30-40 receipts at once, then go through and review/edit the records after that.  I think this process is what the designers had in mind when they created the new version.

It came naturally to me, and I really like it.

It's a huge improvement, although I did like the 3.0 version a lot.

After using it I'm pleased with the new software.

I have scanned over 3000 receipts, and I have never scanned receipts one at a time... always in batch mode in SmartSorter.  In SmartSorter, I always had the *option* to preview a scanned receipt if I wanted.  (usually did not though)

Interesting.  What is the smart sorter?  I've never used it in 3.0... never knew about it.  I always scanned one receipt a time, which was tedious.

Last night I scanned over 270 receipts with 4.0 and did it in half the time it would have taken in 3.0, one  at a time.

Yes, in more ways than one. The first great improvement is that they have separated the scanner interface from the program itself. Now I can scan and work on my receipts at the same time.

Also, as other have also said, I never scan one receipt at one time. This way I can scan all my receipts and *then* modify them (I almost always crop them down a bit to help save disk space). With v3, I couldn't do that.
