    Modifying Columns

    You can choose to hide or display any columns you prefer by choosing the Tools menu, then Show/Hide Columns. Here, you can check or uncheck any column heading(s) you want to show for your folders or receipts (note that only currently visible columns are checked).

    From the Tools menu, you can also change the names of columns and fields as you prefer.

    • Go to the Tools menu, choose Personalize, then Column/Field Names where you can change or create names column and field names to match your own terminology.

    Tip: See the table at the bottom of this page to see which columns are associated with which grid.

    FIND

    In NeatReceipts, you don't need to remember where you saved individual files as you do in Windows. That's because all information in NeatReceipts is saved in a database that organizes your information for you.

    • Use the Fast Find buttons to find all items you recently scanned or modified.
    • Use the Find Receipts or Find Contacts tabs for additional retrieval options by time period and name.

    For example to find all the "Expense Reports" you scanned in the past financial quarter you'd click the Find Receipts tab and follow these steps:

    • Click Period and select a value from drop down list.
    • Check "Expense Reports".
    • Click Find.

    There is even an Advanced Tab that lets you do more advanced finds, such as "Find all receipts over $100, from last month, that were paid for with my Visa Card."

    Here's how to do an Advanced Find:

    • Click the Advanced Find tab.
    • Click Amount Column, enter $100, click Add.
    • Click Receipt Date Column, enter a date range for last month, click Add.
    • Click Payment Type Column, select Visa, click Add.
    • Then click Find.

    SORT

    • Sorting in NeatReceipts is a snap. Just click the column header of any column you wish to arrange your scanned items by.
      • For example, if you wanted to sort your receipts by payment time, you'd click the top of the Payment Type column once.
    • NeatReceipts also offers multiple sort options that allow you to specify a series of sorting criteria. From the Tools menu, choose Sort.
      • For example, you could use this option to sort your scanned items by category, followed by date, and then amount.

    PRINT

    To print images and their associated grid information, choose Print from the File menu. In the Receipt Organizer, first select the Folder of scanned images you wish to print.

    • You can choose to print your images in real size or shrink four to a page.
    • NeatReceipts even offers a paper-saving option that automatically figures out how to fit the maximum number of images on a given page.

    EXPORT

    NeatReceipts supports many export formats including: PDF, Excel, CSV (MS Access), RTF (MS Word), HTML, QIF (Quicken), OFX (MS Money), IIF (QuickBooks), as well as a Direct to QuickBooks exchange. All of these export formats are easily accessed by clicking the large export icon at the top of the screen.
