Limited Receipt parsing

My brand new neat receipts doesn't do a very good job parsing receipts. It gets the vendor right, most of the time, and the date and type of payment, but it almost always misses the amount. It sometime takes the first amount shown, sometimes the tax amount, sometimes no amount. Am I doing something wrong? I'd love it to work for me, but it this is as good as it gets, then I'm going to have to return it.

How do I access NeatScan To Office?
Launch any of the four major Office applications. Each application has a main menu item for accessing “Add-ins”. Click on this Office menu item, the controls for NeatScan To Office (NSTO) will appear. Diagrams for MS Word 2003 and 2007 appear below.

Can I send documents created with NSTO to someone who does not have NSTO installed?
Absolutely! Any document created by NSTO, whether it is an Outlook email, Outlook Contact or a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file exists as a standard Office document. You can do exactly the same functions with a document containing data created by NSTO as you can with information you inserted using Office’s own functionality. Of course, if the user viewing the document does not have NSTO installed they will not be able to scan into the Office application or see the Office “Add-in” menu for NSTO.

How do I create a PDF with STO?
You can create searchable PDF files with a remarkable similarity to the original paper document within any of the main MS Office applications. Simply go to the NSTO add-in tool bar and click on “Scan to PDF”.

How do I Calibrate and Clean my Neat Mobile Scanner?
Open any MS Office application and go to the “Add-ins” menu. Locate the “Settings” button and click it. In the middle of the “Settings” screen you will see buttons to initiate the calibration or cleaning process. Please make sure either the calibration or cleaning paper is properly inserted into the scanner and then click on the applicable button.

Can I use NeatScan To Office if MS Office is not installed?
No, NeatScan To Office (NSTO) has been designed to work in conjunction with MS Office and requires a valid version to be properly installed on your computer prior to installing NSTO. If you want to scan and manage your paper documents, and do not use MS Office, try NeatWorks 4.0. NeatWorks does not depend on MS Office.

What versions of MS Office can NSTO run with?
NSTO works with Office 2003 and Office 2007, with or without SP1 installed.

What operating systems can NSTO run on?
NSTO will run on XP with either SP2 or SP3 installed and Vista with or without SP1 installed.

Can NeatWorks or NeatReceipts work with STO installed on the same machine?
Yes, NSTO will work with either NeatWorks 4.0 or NeatReceipts v3.0 with SP1 installed. It is not compatible with versions of NeatReceipts earlier then v3.0, SP1.

What scanners does NSTO work with?
We currently support the Neat Mobile Scanner (white) and the Neat Mobile Scanner (silver).

Does NSTO support my TWAIN scanner?
Not at this time, NSTO works only with the mobile scanners made by The Neat Company.

Can either of the Neat Mobile Scanners be used with other applications?
Yes, all our scanners support TWAIN interfaces and can be used to scan directly into third party applications.

Can NSTO run on a 64 bit version of Windows?
No, at present NSTO only supports the 32 bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista. We will inform our customers when we have a 64 bit version ready.
