NeatWorks cannot launch.

I keep getting the following. "NeatWorks cannot launch because a connection to the database could not be established, possibly beacuse the database is still starting up. Please wait 30 seconds and then try re-launching NeatWorks. If the problem still persists, please contact NeatWorks technical support for assistance."

What is with this? This happens each and everytime I start the program. I do wait then r-launch and all is well. This really needs to be fixed.

In searching I found similar instances mentioned for v3, so I decided to see what I could do with those suggestions. I went into services and changed the SQL Server (NR2007) to automatic and at least for right now that seems to have sloved the problem. We will see however!

Better help documentation on fields needed

I am a new user for the Mac version. I am flummoxed by the cryptic field names and labels. What is the difference between a field NAME and a field LABEL? How do you use each type of receipt field like 'category' or 'project'? How do you create a new name for any of these? By reading the PDF for the Windows versions, I have guessed that the field named "CATEGORY" is supposed to be used for the vendor type. So Wal-mart would be categorized as a 'general retailer' for instance, Sunoco would be 'gas'. However this is not the same as expense type such as 'Christmas gifts' or "pet care" or "Beach vacation 2008". How do I create a field for this? Are there fields created already that would be searchable and useful for this, say like, "Project" [not appropriate home-finance terminology but, well, whatever...]? Additionally, the way to "Create or Modify Fields" in the Edit dropdown is utterly mysterious. How does this functionality relate to displaying a new field on the reciept screen? I haven't figured out yet how to get the "Project" field to display on the reciept screen for instance.

thanks! love the OCR functionality but the database design needs to be a bit more user-friendly and more intuitive.

need help with "refinding" the toolbars in excel

I have tried unseuccessfully now many timesand many maneuvers to reinstall the missing toolbars ( neatsheet/neatscan) in excel. All other MS Offfice apps have the toolbars as originally installed. Help..

Upgrade Will Not Install

Good afternoon, we just purchased the scan to office product and were looking to use the upgrade to 1.0.1 found on your site, but we receive an error saying it is the wrong version and it will not install. Please advise.

1- Allow for truly customizable neat sheets!

The ability to add rows and columns is pointless as the ability to assign categories is crippled. I bought this under the assumption that I could modestly create a template suitable for my own use. I did not appreciate discovering the fact that I am expected to categorize my personal finances and business needs to seemingly arbitrary categories that border on the redundant. I further did not appreciate that I discovered this crippled functionality after hours of futile attempts in making my own neat sheet, only to resign myself to memorizing renamed categories for other data (e.g., airline = gas). This resignation occurred after chancing upon a blurb on a .pdf clearly stating aforementioned functionality limit---something left out of the help file and the instructions on the neat sheets themselves!
