The scanner fails during the calibration phase. When I click on "Calibrate", the scanner pulls about half of the calibration card in, then the light next to the "SCAN" button on the scanner starts blinking and the calibration stops. The software displays "Calibration In Progress" and never registers any sort of error. Exiting the Neat Works software does not stop the blinking of the scanner light and the only way to get it to respond again is to reboot the pc. After rebooting, it does the same thing. Has anyone run into such an issue? Are there known issues with Neat Works and Windows 7 64 bit?

restore without backup?

Hello,

I had a total computer failure (vista 32 bit laptop) and am unable to boot from that computer's old hard disk which has all my neat receipts data.

I have a backup, but lost about two weeks worth of scanning work since the prior backup.

Is there any way to get that lost data back?

My new computer is running vista 64 and I have upgraded to version 4.0 of NeatWorks.

I still have the old hard disk and I can see all the neat receipts program files in there, is there anyway to recover the data from them?

Thank you for any info

Neatworks won't install

Trying to install Neatworks on Vista 64. Newest version, just

However, once I paid and DL the file, it won't run the upgrade install because it says I don't have a high enough version of NeatReceipts already installed! Nowhere on the website can I find a minimum required rev. of the pre-existing product. I have 2.8.1; so I tried DL & install the available 3.0 SP1 update. Again, it says I already have to have NR 3.0 or higher to run. I find nowhere that tells me how to get from 2.8.1 to 3.0. So now, I'm out $30, and cannot run the upgrade I've paid for. Also, I have the older "Scanalizer", with a "Custom" and a "SCAN" button.... I'm just praying that if I can somehow get the upgrade to work, it will be compatible with my scanner! Can anyone please help me here? Right click on your file and run as "Troubleshoot Compatability"

3. Choose second option "Troubleshoot Program"

4. Choose first option "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run"

5. Choose Windows XP Service Pack 2

After going through the rest of the installer it will ask to reboot the computer to start as Administrator mode. The background was black through the entire process of installation but it came back after finishing.

I restored my backup file and voilá, it is working back again. I got no error message running Neat Receipts anymore.

I will run the application tomorrow and will update thread.

It is by far the best document organizer I have tried, and I do a lot of receipts...

Rey

4.0 Outlook feature question

I *LOVE* my 3.0 Neatreceipts software, but it has a glaring deficiency that I hope is rectified in 4.0. I know there's the newfangled Outlook toolbar, but when I get a receipt emailed to me from an online vendor in Outlook (like Amazon or Buy.com), I hate having to 'print' it as a PDF then manually importing it to NR. I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium.

I encountered an error while trying to install the NeatWorks v4.1.1 update (v4.0.8 was previously installed). Part way through the install I received a message saying that the installer encountered an error and could not continue and that it would revert back to the previous version. After the installer had quit, I had to restart the computer in order to get NeatWorks to run (I'm assuming the installer had turned off some of the services and when the error was encountered those services weren't automatically restarted). However, instead of seeing v4.0.8 on the splashscreen Version 4 SP1 showed up instead. Once the program finished loading I could confirm that v4.1.1 (via checking under Help -> About NeatWorks) was showing up as the installed version. Although the data appeared to be fine in the tables I was encountering an error message everytime I clicked on any receipt and the images of the scanned receipts weren't showing up in the left pane.

I was unable to rerun the update to try and complete and/or repair the install since it detected that v4.1.1 was already installed. I had to completely uninstall NeatWorks and restart the computer. When I went to execute the NW v4.0.8 full install it prompted me to check for any updates, at which time it found an update for v4.1.1, and I was able to download the full install for v4.1.1 (instead of the update only file).

After installing the full version of v4.1.1 and restoring my previous v4.0.8 backup everything appears to be working correctly ... so far!

Just a word to the wise, make sure you backup your data prior to updating the software. Fortunately, I did backup my data prior to upgrading because when I unistalled the broken install all previous data was lost.

Did anyone else have a similiar and unfortunate experience?

Problems with Mac Address Book

I am running a desktop scanner with a MacBook Pro with 10.5.7 and the latest version of the Neat software.
