    Re: Giant File Sizes

I just bought NeatDesk for PC and have spent several days getting to know the product and scanning documents, receipts and a few business cards.  Most pages at letter sized and all but one page are B&W.  The database reports 39 receipts, 5 contacts, 40 documents and 425 MB total data.  That's about 5 MB per page.

    I have two questions/requests:

1.)  Is it possible to adjust the scanning resolution to say 200 dpi or 150 dpi?  I'd like to scan more documents into less disk space.

2.) I'd like to store the database repository on a different drive.  My C drive is used as a boot drive but my data is on a separate spindle so that I can Ghost image the boot drive from time to time.

I've read some trick on this forum about how to fool the operating system into finding the database files on a re-mapped folder on my E: drive.  But that solution is cumbersome and inelegant.  I'd like to be able to choose a drive letter for my data from within the installation program or move the database after the program is installed.

Please let me know if there's a way to achieve these objectives or if these may be planned as future enhancements.  I like the product but I dont want to buy a new hard drive and reimage my system disk just to keep using it.  I'd also like to consider the MAC version of the software if I can stroe scanned images on an external hard drive.

Nice product, but a few opportunities to make it better remain.

    Thanks,

    -David
