Generally I am very happy with NeatWorks and I will use it a lot. I have found a few things that I hope might be changed in future versions:
1. For the prompt: "Delete item? Are you sure you wish to delete this item? This can not be undone." with Delete and Cancel, Cancel is selected, so the return button will choose Cancel. It would be nice if the spacebar selected Delete.
2. It would be nice if double-clicking on a receipt in Item View would bring up the inspector.
3. It would be nice if a particular collection would always open with the last viewing option (e.g. by date).
4. It would be nice if you could flip through receipts in Image Flow view, using a two-finger swipe, as in iTunes.
5. Smart Collections should ideally emulate iTunes; in other words, there should be more than one way of simultaneously narrowing your search. Also, control-clicking on a Smart Collection should give a pull-down menu that includes "Edit Smart Collection"
6. Also Smart Collections always searches All Collections by default. It would be nice, for example, if you could make a Smart Collection that only included Receipts for a particular month, or only those that are marked Personal, or only those that are not.
7. In Item View and Inspector, it would be nice if you could choose not to show so many fields by default. For example, on a normal receipt, most of the time the information for many of those fields doesn't exist.
8. It would be nice to be able to drag pages in a multi-page document or receipt to reorder them. Deleting a single page from a multi-page document is possible but not obvious. The ability to merge single page documents into one would be nice.
9. The notes field doesn't always save.
10. It should be possible to edit the Category list. For example when a Category is no longer used for any receipt, you should be able to delete the Category.
11. In the Inspector: If the second page of a two-page receipt is not the same size as the first, NeatWorks does not resize the second page to fit the window.
12. If the computer goes into sleep mode during a scan, NeatWorks hangs. A forced quit is then necessary.
13. Occasionally NeatWorks will delete the second page of a scanned receipt when you try to scan a third page.
