Depends on the old version you were running. I can't remember exactly the version numbers supported by Beta, but it supports at LEAST the two prior versions.
Open it on your XP box.
Backup the database.
Open it on your Vista Box.
Restore the database.
(Beta will automatically update it as it restores it to a new file)
Voila.. go get a cookie to celebrate!
