Scanner not responding

    Crying [:'(] Scanner not responding

     

    Problem: Scanner is not scanning

    • OS: Mac OS X v 10.4.11
    • Neatworks Mac Software v 2.1.9
    • Scanner: small, slim version

     

    Neatworks seems to take a long time to load and once it does I cannot scan. The screen will say it's scanning (sometimes) but the scanner never does anything but sit there.

     What I've tried: 

    • restarting the computer
    • disconnecting and reconnecting the scanner
    • check that the light is lit on the scanner
    • ran scanner diagnostics
      • all diagnostics good
      • test scan FAIL

    Any ideas on what's wrong?
