  • Improved OCR (optical character recognition) accuracy
    
• Vista Compatibility
  • Compatibility with Microsoft Vista is a high priority for us, and is currently under development. We do not have a date available at this time.

It would be great if you launched a beta program for your Neatreceipts Vista/x64 driver.

 

Does this mean that 2.7 won't support Vista and we'll be waiting until after March for Vista support?

Do you have any plans to support Windows XP running on the Mac, either through Parallels or Boot Camp?

Will there be a software release fo MAC OS X?

We have had some customers successfully install NeatReceipts on a MAC running Parallels or Boot Camp, however we can't guarantee installation will be sucesful in all cases. We do, however, offer a fantastic 30 day money back guarantee on all purchases made directly through NeatReceipts-so if you're unable to install or simply unhappy with the program, you can return it for a full refund-including the shipping back to us!

While we don't have a definite ETA for you, there has been significant interest from MAC users, and we hope to have a MAC version in the future. Please subscribe to our newsletter, or check the website for updates.

Unfortunately, NeatReceipts will not be able to support Vista right away. It is a high priority for us and currently under development-and we appreciate your patience while we work to get it out as quickly as possible.

Now I do not know if I will set up and use NeatReceipts!  It is in the BOX waiting for me to order a new computer with VISTA.  It bothers me that this was not further along in the pipeline - like Tuesday was the first mention of VISTA?

and there is no MAC support...I guess Apple just came out?...well, I guess it did.  If I decide to use this I will have to keep a laptop with XP to use it on and then "can I transfer it over to Vista"? or will that be "ünder development"?

Sorry, I just needed to vent as I was looking forward to using this ASAP and had great faith in it!

I just want you to know that I share your frustration... I've been Beta testing Vista since April and notified Neat Receipts IT about the lack of compatibility via email and via telephone in June 2006.  I was told then that the software would be compatible when VISTA was released.

I'm p.o'd but not willing to raise to big of an issue ONLY b/c unlike most businesses with a less than appropriate response to valid consumer demand, Neat Receipt's product is INCREDIBLE.  I 've always hated (and as a result, never balanced) my checkbook.  Using Neat Receipts I've designed a program to compare monthly bank files with a monthly register (created by scanning my receipts) ... Quicken and MS Money wont do this for me.   So I'm stuck, I guess.

 

Just wanted you to know you weren't the only one suffering and that your original questions were not unreasonable.

I am curious what you mean by a program to balance checkbook.  I can see that you get bank side info from quicken web connect (ofx files) and that you get consumer side info from receipts scanned into NeatReceipts; however, I don't see where you go from there.  Do you simply export NR data to quicken and look to see which transactions aren't automatically matched?  I worry that this would lead to duplicate transactions too often but I haven't tried it.

I just bought a NeatReceipts today (2/3/07) excited to use it with my new Visa laptop. No-workie, and now I see a "no ETA" on the Vista support, apparently after a missed delivery date as well.

Jenn, I would rather return my scanner tomorrow than bet on a "no ETA" tech. support response. Would you venture another commitment to a ETA availability time?

 Jenn,

 Just a thought about the proposed March release to include significant tax help.  In my part of the US we are encouraged to pay our taxes around the middle of April. I think it would be a Big Selling Point if you could make those tax help features you are promising available as much in advance of then as possible.
