OK I just bought for download the NeatWorks Upgrade 4.0. However, once I paid and DL the file, it won't run the upgrade install because it says I don't have a high enough version of NeatReceipts already installed! Nowhere on the website can I find a minimum required rev. of the pre-existing product. I have 2.8.1; so I tried DL & install the available 3.0 SP1 update. Again, it says I already have to have NR 3.0 or higher to run.  I find nowhere that tells me how to get from 2.8.1 to 3.0. So now, I'm out $30, and cannot run the upgrade I've paid for. Also, I have the older "Scanalizer", with a "Custom" and a "SCAN" button.... I'm just praying that if I can somehow get the upgrade to work, it will be compatible with my scanner! Can anyone please help me here? Thanks.

There are 2 sets of instructions.  One is for folks upgrading from Version 3 or higher and the other instructions are for folks upgrading from Version 2.1 to 2.8.  Please be sure to follow the appropriate instructions.

Tonight I purchased the $30 upgrade for Windows, trying to upgrade from 2.8.1 to 4.0.  I downloaded the file "NeatWorksv4.6.2UPGRADE.exe" from the supplied link when my purchase was completed and followed the upgrade instructions e-mailed to me.  I followed the link "I am upgrading from Version 2.1 - 2.8 >>" which had explicit steps "For users upgrading from NeatReceipts Versions 2.1 - 2.8" to uninstall the current version. 

Once uninstalled and PC rebooted, I tried to install the file "NeatWorksv4.6.2UPGRADE.exe" and received the message: "The NeatWorks Upgrade requires NEAT Receipts 3.0.3, 3.0.4, or 3 SP1 to be installed.  The installer will now exit."

I tried downloading and installing the SP3 file and received a similar message.  Can you please tell me what I am missing or if I received the incorrect set of instructions or upgrade file.

Hi,

Grab a full 4.0 installer from http://neatco.com/vista64

Install that, then restore your 2.8.1 backup.
