I  am traveling a lot in the USA and Europe, with hotel, car and other receipts in Dollars as well as in Euros.

I love the receipt feature. However, the scanner software is not able to scan receipts issued in more than one currency. For example, on the Mac, it either reads every receipt in Dollars, if I choose US Dollar as my standard Currency in System Preference International. Or every receipt is in Euros if I choose Euro as my standard currency. Unfortunately that makes my American hotel bills even more expensive at the current conversion rate:-)

It would be great if the software can scan receipts issued in different currencies.   This could be done by adding a flag or attribute indicating that the receipt being scanned is not in the default language's currency. The user could add the current conversion rate in another attribute. 

And a checkmark box could be added to the Preferences panel, that allows the user to indicate that he would like to archive receipts in more than one currency. 

 

Aaaaah, and the final suggestion I will second for the day. All the way back to version 2 I recall folks from across Europe and around the world, as well as Glob-trotting Americans, requesting the multi-currency support....  Again, I'd put this at the top of my request list.  There are some simple database changes you could make to accommodate this, and make a lot of folks very happy, increase your customer base, and improve international relations in a time when the people around world just need more friends!

I too must second this idea.

 I am an international contractor and have expenses that are not in the USD. So far this year I have reciepts in 5 different currencies.

Like Banuschka mentioned there also needs to be a way of filling in the conversion rate for the date of purchase.

This is top of the list me as well.  I travel all over the world as does the rest of my team.  I have recommended the scanner to others on our team because even with this shortfall the product still works great for our purpose.  I would be able to save a lot of time if it could handle multiple curencies as well as the exchange rates.

I just updated to the newest version of NeatWorks, hoping for currency support.  Still not support for multiple currencies.  Is it really so hard to add 2 columns to a table?

I did a search for the phrase "currency" on this forum and found 35 hits dating back to 2007, all of them supporting multiple currencies.

I know if they are tring to convert the value it is a bit more complicated. But just adding 2 fields

Currency and value converted. (if you add factor that be great). That would do the job for most of us.

 

Plus give us the possibility to define defult value while scanning.

 

While the curency would be a great value to add, the date format limitation MM/DD/YYYY make the product unusable.

Please give us the possibility to configure.

I have to say that I am a little surprised regarding the lack of ability to set a default currency when scanning, or even manually editing the field/setting currency value post scannng. This strikes me as being a baseline capability in receipt scanning software for the traveller. Some of the other features elaborated by other users above strike me as being highly desirable - but I'd be happy with the baseline in the interim.

In the meantime, I'll be changing the default currency settings on my Mac when I travel - and exporting reports in that currency as I travel, and stitching them together later - as a workaround.

All this notwithstanding, I feel this software and hardware has great potential, and is still going to save me a huge amount of time!
