Using Scan to PDF, in SP2 (v4.5.2 Build 182) and earlier versions, the PDF document quality was excellent.
But since I upgraded to SP3 (v4.6.2 Build 152) The document quality has suffered.
I notice that the PDF file size is half that of what it used to be and it seems that the White Balance is set way too high. Even the text isn't as good quality as what I am used to.
My Bank Statements are white at the top for the first three inches, then the rest of the document is a light hospital green. In SP2 and previous versions when I would use Scan to PDF, the documents would comes out just right and the color would be fine. But since I upgraded to SP3, the documents are White Washed. The green color is completely gone.
Yet after I scan the documents, while they are being processed, you can plainly see the green color in the document windows of the Scan Center.
It seems that the documents are scanning just fine, but the PDF scan settings in the Neat Works software has been changed enough that it it does not scan colors correctly.
Even my wife's weekly paycheck statements don't scan correctly. She has direct deposit, but still gets the check statement in which the check and the borders are blue, but the software alters it to a lighter blue making it look washed out.
I know from reading posts in the forums that prior to the release of SP3, there were complaints of the file size being too large. But you don't need to sacrifice quality to give the complainers what they want.
PLEASE Give us control of the scan settings or at least fix it so the quality will be the same as before. Your scan settings for PDF and receipts is too restrictive.
I have seriously been considering purchasing Adobe Acrobat for my system. The way things are looking, I may just have to do this, then access the NeatDesk scanner directly using Adobe Acrobat just to get the quality that I want.
Already, I use Adobe PhotoShop and more recently, Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 Ultimate for scanning any receipts or other documents which need to be imported into NeatWorks just to get the quality I want and need.
