    NeatDesk Mac hangs

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new scanner. Double-sided automatically; batches - it's gREAT!!!

     Twice, however, in the first hour of use it has 'jammed' - not because there's too much paper - but just jammed for some reason where the next sheet of paper won't feed from the "stack" of 4 or 5 sheets. When this happens, both lights start blinking on the scanner together, and I cannot figure out how to get things working again. The software says "scanning" and I cannot stop the "scan" although no paper is feeding. I must force quit the software, and then when I restart I cannot get the software to recognize the existence of the scanner. My only resort so far is a complete reboot of the computer, which (a) doesn't seem right and (b) is a huge PITA.

     Help!

    I have the same problem. Just to see if this was a problem with the scanner I used neatscan on XP in parallels and the same document scanned just fine. 

    It must be related to the software.

    same problem.

    scanning multiple receipts does work however scanning multiple Documents does not work. Scanner stops scanning after second page is pulled in. Scan buttons blink. information window indicates : Scanning.

    Turning scanner off and on turn buttons green light on but Scanner is not recognized anymore until a complete reboot.

    Diagnostics shows everything OK but scanning does not work anymore. Closing Neatworks is not possible only Force close ends Application. Only reboot brings scanner back.

    Exact same issue. Multipage Documents are causing flashing green lights. Freezing after scan of first page. Please fix!

    Even with the update, I am still getting the lockup with the flashing lights at about 10-15 pages into a multi-page scan.  Otherwise, the scanner seems to work well from what I can tell.  Any solutions?

    I'm having the same problems. Have reinstalled latest software update twice and spent all afternoon trying to scan documents. Not a happy camper right now!

    I updated today to version 2.1.4 (214017). And the old problem is back Scanner stuck after after second page is pulled in. Same happens when I manually scan first page, wait until document is processed then scan second page, scanner hangs again.

    Please Mac team solve this problem.

    I just got my Neat desk today and I got the exact same problem.  I am not happy about this especially as I was showing my wife how to use it and the words came out, "just how much did you pay for this?"  Not happy at all!

    Same problem here.  For this I paid top dollar?  Doesn't matter how great the software is if you can't scan in the first place.  Sending mine back for a refund.

    I have the same problem, everytime a receipt runs through and misfeeds in anyway, stalls or jams, the whole thing hangs. The scan and pdf buttons flash, the colour wheel appears on the mac, and I can't quit neatworks without shutting off my mac. I have tried unplugging the power from the scanner - still hangs my machine. I have tried unplugging the usb cable - still hangs. I can't even force quit the application from the Mac. I really don't mind if it doesn't feed the receipts perfectly each time, but there is some minor misfeed about every three receipts. Works great on business cards, receipts have a ways to go yet. Can't effectively integrate into my accounting, and it hangs all the time when there is a misfeed.

    Just talked to support and they asked me to plug the scanner directly into the back of the iMac (Intel). It could be a poor quality hub is causing these problems. Here is the Belkin hub I am using Mfr. Part No.: F5U304-WHT-APL. I will let you know if that solves my problem.

    ALso there is a patch coming out for Power PC macs soon that will address some issues.

    I just purchased the Neatdesk for Mac and I am using their latest software 2.1.4.

    As described in most of the post here, my neatdesk software hangs after feeding multiple documents. Hard reboot is the only way to get out of this. This issue happens EVERY time I try to use neatdesk software with the neat adf scanner.

    Has anyone received a meningful response from the neatco? My unit is plugged directly into my imac so there is no "hub" issue. The Neatco need to resolve this issues FAST!

     Any feedback would be appreciated.

    I contacted the technical support folks around May 3rd. I was told that this is a known issue and a new software release would be made that week to fix the problem. It's been a couple weeks since then and still no word on when it will be fixed. I'm not sure that it's a top priority for them otherwise it would be fixed by now or they would make some mention on their website of how to work around the problem. (I was told to set it to double-sided and full color and that worked but it was painfully slow. I might as well get a flatbed scanner.)

    I'm also having problems using it at all on my PPC mac. As soon as I turn the NeatDesk scanner on in that case I get the pinwheel of death and eventually the scan button blinks red but then nothing responds.

    I really think this will be something great to have on hand once they get it working but my patience has worn thin and I think I'll be sending it back in a week.  You want a $400 product to work out of the box. I'm not interested in being a Beta tester especially for $400.

    Wow...this is sure a pain in the a**.  I can't count how many times this program has just stopped, with the green lights on the front panel flashing, right in the middle of a scan, and leaving me having to restart, and even then the chances are high that it will just hang again.  Very annoying.
